Secret heroes of London’s live music scene, Wormfood have developed an amazing reputation among London’s true musical connoisseurs for their good vibe, inclusive, musically adventurous parties with a strong focus on the dancefloor, celebrating the common ground between African, jazz, global and electronic styles.

Instrumental in the development of two of London’s best-loved live music spots Passing Clouds and Hootananny Brixton, responsible for the amazing Valley of the Antics at Secret Garden Party (2008-2012) they have hosted over 500 events since 2007, including stage takeovers at Shambala Festival, Secret Garden Party and the London Olympics as well as residencies across the UK, and their own Camberwell Fair 2017 event.

Mutating from promoter to agency to record label to management, Wormfood have grown to a position as THE go-to agency for futuristic, danceable global sounds, proudly counting Tony Allen, Mercury-Award nominated The Comet is Coming, Nubiyan Twist, Afriquoi, Vaudou Game, Alsarah & The Nubatones K.O.G & The Zongo Brigade and The Turbans among their ranks.

This night will be a celebration of the spirit of 10 years of parties, featuring an all star lineup of the cream of the Wormfood roster. Limited edition WF10 vinyls will be available on the night. Here’s to the next 10 years!

As “one of the South’s most exciting reggae acts”, Brighton-based Samsara Collective create an open minded and fresh take on the roots tradition. Wormfood present an afrobeat, funk and hiphop special.
Cardiff’s Afro Cluster headline, melding authentic sounds and rhythms of afro-funk and hip-hop with impassioned, politically conscious lyrics atop bold melodies, afro-beat aural acrobatics, rich harmonies and complex rhythms. “What a great authentic sound this is; completely convincing” – Tom Robinson. Support from Kokoroko, a fresh London-based Afrobeat 7-Piece inspired by Fela Kuti, Ebo Taylor, Tony Allen- with an all female horn section and proper London fire including hotly tipped jazz/soul artist Oscar Jerome on guitar; and Hot Border Special bring an upbeat set of hard instrumental afro funk, featuring the legendary guitar styles of Noisettes co-founder Dan Smith. Japan’s Kay Suzuki (Afrobuddha/Sunlightsquare) on the decks all night playing a mixture of african and electronic styles. Wormfood present a spring special: three exciting young bands drawing on soul, afro and disco. The 8 legged Antelope “play un-pop. Their music defies generic classification; having learnt a vocabulary from the music they love, Antelope now speak a language of their own.
Having spent three summers tearing up the festival circuit with barnstorming sets at the likes of Bestival, Secret Garden Party and Lake of Stars Festival (Malawi), CSC are back after a year off with new line-up, new songs and a new sound, mixing African-influenced guitars with dance music beats to create upbeat, festival-friendly tunes. “When they start playing, they bring the sunshine.” – John Kennedy.
Lit FM are a spiritually conscious and international Disco / Soul-Dub / Latin / Jazz-hop fusion band from South London broadcasting positive vibes encapsulated within a style which encompasses the history of jazz music; all the way from the american and latin roots, then through funk, soul, disco and ending with hip-hop and jungle.
Pete OntheCorner is a party DJ / Label Boss of On the Corner / Intrepid sound-explorer and music journalist. His DJ sets combine the freshest cuts from his internationally acclaimed label, with stone-cold classics and the latest in afro-grooves, funk-disco and floor-fillers on the left-side of house.

A Brixton native, having been fully immersed in the local soundsystem culture from childhood, HORSEMAN has become one of the best known, loved and most widely featured mic talkers in the UK, revered for a style that is both powerful yet rooted in a humble and positive soul. Having toured internationally with the likes of Holly Cook, Prince Fatty and The Skints, he will be joined this time by regular collaborators THE UPPER CUT BAND, UK backing of the legendary Solo Banton and increasingly become a staple on the support line-up for major touring talent. Also featuring are the excellent DOJO, a jazz / reggae collective with an affinity for conscious lyrics and exquisite harmony that has made them one of the most interesting acts on the circuit, along with Brighton wonders FRESH LIKE DEXIE, with their expectedly fresh concoction of soul, jazz & hip-hop. REVERB BISTRO man the decks to finish off this decidedly irie affair with some globally sourced sounds, from the rhythm and pulse of Lagos, Nigeria to baselines that rumble from the streets of South London.

A hard-hitting Italian afro-funk fusion collective, grown from a percussion and horns ensemble into a searing 10-piece, blending afrobeat, polyrhythms and jazz. This is their first UK outing following the release this month of their self-titled debut, after several years of touring Italy.

Headed up by band leader Simo, a talented and versatile musician who also plays with the excellent Electric Jalaba and Gnawa Griot. Along with all star guest musicians, Gnawa Blues Allstars sees him fusing the traditional sounds of Gnawa with music from countries such as Gambia, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Guinea, Mali, India, Japan, Venezuela and the Caribbean. Beginning his music career in 2000 while working as a performing artist in a singing & dancing company of “Casa de Cultura” of Beira, Nelson is the founder of the well-known band in Mozambique called Djaaka who have toured in various countries in Europe & Africa. This led him and the band to record their first album “Mbole Mbole Nha Ngona”. In 2004, Nelson moved to the United Kingdom and delivered numerous workshops in schools, community centres, and detention houses. Having played festivals such Womad Festival, Africa Oye and Glastonbury Festival as well as a raft of venues up and down the country, Nelson has firmly established his reputation here.

Nogabe Randriaharimalala’s guitar picking and amazing voice combined with the deep sound of the Calabash and Gome played by Afla Shakey, which combines with the magic of Mehdi Ganjvar’s fingers on the Darbuka and Bongos to make this trio totally unique and thoroughly enjoyable. They are now working on the 5th Album “Miraisahina” which translates as Unity.
