Worm Food

Wormfood presents: Backbeat Soundsystem / Samsara / First Degree Burns / Ed West

22/10/2016

Wormfood return to Hootananny for October with a showcase of the finest reggae, roots and hiphop, with some of the UK’s most heavyweight players heating up the building. Stomping bass, dub synths & steady grooves signal the sound of our headliners, the much loved Backbeat Soundsystem. They’re joined by Samsara, bringing the fresh experimental rhythms with their own unique take on traditional roots culture, along with the huge 8-piece reggae/hip-hop fusion of Bristol’s First Degree Burns. On the decks all night is DJ, producer and drummer Ed West, with a sound that draws on a palette of dub, dancehall, jungle and hip hop, representing Lewisham’s Unit 137 and fresh from a new EP on Tru Thoughts’ ‘Sharp and Ready’ imprint.
