Worm Food

Wormfood presents: London Afrobeat Collective, Samson Sounds, Benin City, Radio Exotica

Shake off those January shivers at Hootananny with another fine Wormfood-flavoured wriggler. If, as the great Fela Kuti once said, ‘music is the weapon’, then you’ll need to wear armour to withstand the full sonic force of our headliners London Afrobeat Collective (LAC) – this politicised party machine are an incendiary live act who channel the spirit of the Afrobeat founder via bass-heavy rhythms guaranteed to make you move. Next up we welcome back the five piece, dub-infused, love-filled Glasgow-bred vibrations of Samson Sounds, as well as a band UK jazz grandee Soweto Kinch calls “Refreshing, exciting and completely unique” – the superb Benin City. Tying this all up are selection supremos Radio Exotica, who as well as espousing wisdom via their own nights and blogs have graced such renowned parties as Glastonbury and Africa Oye. Tuck in with us and get cosy.
